Product Description
High-capacity hydraulic compression on large electrical conductors used in transmission, distribution, and infrastructure projects. This robust double-acting 60-ton press produces consistent, reliable compression force while eliminating common issues like jaw jamming — thanks to its hydraulically powered advance and retract design. Built for professional linemen, utility contractors, and industrial crews, the EP-60D2 handles ACSR/ACAR conductor terminations, oversized lugs, and high-volume compression applications that smaller battery-powered tools cannot reliably support. Its double-acting cylinder not only delivers full compression force but also retracts quickly and smoothly, speeding up workflow and reducing operator fatigue by eliminating the need to manually pry jaws apart after each cycle. Designed to integrate seamlessly with any 10,000 psi hydraulic pump, the EP-60D2 accepts standard shell-type dies and features a removable die cap and base for easier cable positioning. Its durable construction, integrated lifting ring, and thoughtful ergonomics make it a dependable choice where power, uptime, and precision matter most on the jobsite. The EP-60D2 is purpose-built for maximized tonnage and field durability in heavy utility compression tasks that require the highest mechanical force available.
Features
- Double-Acting Hydraulic Cylinder : The double-acting design delivers push-pull operation, allowing the ram to retract hydraulically rather than relying on springs. This minimizes tool jams and speeds up cycle times on repetitive compression jobs.
- 60-Ton Compression Capacity : Provides industry-leading compression force to securely crimp large conductors, oversized connectors, and high-capacity sleeves on ACSR and ACAR cables — making it ideal for heavy transmission and distribution work.
- Accepts Standard Shell-Type Dies: Compatible with common shell-type compression dies (e.g., Alcoa® and Burndy® equivalents), helping crews keep die inventories simple and interchangeable across tool platforms.
- Removable Die Cap & Base: The detachable die cap and base assembly simplify cable access and positioning, reducing setup time and improving workflow efficiency on larger, heavier conductors.
- Integrated Lifting Ring & Durable Construction: Built for rugged field use with a sturdy lifting ring for safe transport and positioning in vaults or elevated applications. Its steel construction absorbs jobsite abuse while maintaining long-term reliability.
